Warwick, RI neighborhood guide
Norwood Homes for Sale
Planned 1870s commuter neighborhood in north Warwick
Norwood is a commuter's neighborhood and always has been. Its streets were laid out in 1874, along with a rail station connecting it to Providence. Today it is bounded by Route 37, the Pawtuxet River, Elmwood Avenue and Post Road, which puts you minutes from I-95, T.F. Green and downtown Providence.
Homes in Norwood
Housing is a mix of early-20th-century homes built as the neighborhood filled in after the Gorham Manufacturing Company moved to nearby Cranston, plus capes, ranches and some two-family homes. It is often a practical entry point into Warwick for first-time buyers, and we help them compare it directly with Lakewood and Hoxsie.
Living in Norwood
Norwood Field, in the middle of the neighborhood, has a baseball diamond, basketball court and playground, and the Boys & Girls Club is here too. Post Road and Elmwood Avenue have shopping and restaurants within minutes.
